Preparing first client: ----------------------- After your first client boots up, login as root and run /netboot/config.sh: cd /netboot . ./config.sh This script will automate the installation of required packages, config them and setup other boot up scripts. Installation is VERY slow, but once the thin client reboots, the startup is acceptable. Here you can install other packages you might need such as java or vlc which can be used by the commands. Then reboot and shutdown the client. Now from the console you can clone the client's file system (while it's shutdown) so that other clients can use the same file system. To allow new clients to use the new file system, change the default on the FileSystems screen. This allows for build once, use many. Setup for remote reboot/shutdown -------------------------------- On the server you need to add an option to the ssh_config to enable the reboot/shutdown options. echo PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes +ssh-dss* >> /etc/ssh/ssh_config Setup files ----------- /netboot/config.sh - installs packages, configures them and installs autostart /netboot/autostart - openbox autostart script (executes /netboot/command.sh) /netboot/command.sh - client specifc file (see Commands in web console) /netboot/default.html - default HTML content to display if no command is configured
